Five Militants Killed; Jawan, Civilians injured in Budgam

Four Jaish-e-Mohammed militants were killed in an encounter with security forces in Futlipora village of central Kashmir’s Budgam district.

Five militants have been killed and a soldier has been injured in an encounter operation. One civilian was also injured. Four Jaish-e-Mohammed militants were killed in an encounter with security forces in Futlipora village of central Kashmir's Budgam district, while a Lashkar-e-Taiba militant was killed in Segipora village of north Kashmir's Baramulla District.


The Budgam encounter began early morning when security forces received a specific information about the presence of a militant in Budgam district . Forces cordoned of the village and began a search operation.
The militants who were hiding in the area started firing on security forces.
Police said that the forces including Army's 22 RR, CRPF's 92Bn Sopore police launched a cordon and search operation after inputs about the presence of militants. A para commando of the Indian army was also injured in the gunfight. During the encounter locals start pelting stones on security forces to help the trapped militants to escape, while dispersing the protesters forces start aerial firing in which a teenager civilian Simar Ahmed got hit by a bullet. He was shifted to hospital for treatment. 
The other encounter which broke out in Segipora village of District Baramulla was underway . A militant was killed in this gunfight. The encounter is still ongoing and SSP sopore Harmet Singh told Democracy News Live that they suspect two more militants to be holed up.
